We were approached by Rural Brewing Co – a start-up brewery looking to develop a taproom – create a brand based upon their beers and the great outdoors. As passionate climbers, cyclists, walkers and all things outdoors, they wanted their logo, labels and website to convey the feeling you get when surrounded by nature pursuing these activities.
The team also wanted the beers to look vibrant and stand out on shelves or at the bar.
Alongside putting colourful designs and collages together based on a handful of professional photographs we were handed, we suggested that everything about the brand needed to speak to its main consumer base and be based around outdoor pursuits.
This included everything from creating a logo that echoed the idea of the outside – a mountain, trees and water that also looks like a hop, right through to borders and keys on the cans that look as if they have been taken from an OS map.
From a consultancy perspective, we advised the client to also look into providing experiential packages that combine with outdoor activities followed by beer tastings, food pairings, etc.
We created a sleek, monotone logo based on the idea of both the great outdoors and brewing, to be used in various applications.
We delivered a website in keeping with the brand and built an e-commerce platform for the brewery to sell its beers.
We helped develop a brand that spoke to their consumer base while still bearing the hallmarks of craft beer.
As a start-up brewing under contract, we guided the team through the process of starting a brewery and brand.
